StudentWorx is about the Empowerment of the Next Generation of South Africans.
Born out of the idea to find innovative ways to empower students,
StudentWorx sources local and international work opportunities for students in the ICT sector.

StudentWorx develops ICT solutions, connectivity, design and information management systems.

Organisations love the idea of StudentWorx. They benefit from professional, cutting-edge tech services at affordable rates, while sleeping better at night knowing that they are empowering struggling students. Students are eager to apply their skills, gain work experience under expert supervision and earn some money to support their studies in the process!

Emphasis is placed on implementing employment equity policies in recruitment and project distribution. StudentWorx plans to work more with semi-abled students.

How it started…

In 1996, Gabriel Innovative was established by Dillon Gabriel in order to provide financial support for his academic studies. In 2006, the idea was reborn when Lara Pietersen, a BSc Computer Science student working part time as an IT consultant, approached Gabriel Innovative with the concept of finding sustainable and beneficial solutions for South African students. Many skilled students faced financial difficulties and untenable time constraints having to study while working low-paying jobs at minimum wage. StudentWorx was launched when Natalie Kyriacou, a skilled B.Com Marketing student working part-time in a restaurant, joined Dillon and Lara in further developing StudentWorx.

Our Vision

  • Harness skills from South Africans for South Africans and the World
  • Assist and empower the future innovators of South Africa, by providing them with skills sets, work experience, mentorship and opportunities.
